Inspired by everything.

I am an oil painter based in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex, drawn to the challenge of creating depth, atmosphere, and a strong sense of place. I use light and shadow, brushwork, and perspective to build spaces that feel immersive and alive. As if you happened on a memory, or moment in time.

In my wine barrel stave pieces, I also work with the shape of the material itself. The convex curve of the stave brings the painting slightly into the viewer’s space, while the ends recede toward the wall, creating a natural sense of dimension. That relationship between image and surface is a big part of what excites me. Whether painting on canvas or reclaimed wood, I want the work to feel rich, approachable, and engaging for anyone who spends time with it.

As a person, I’m a pretty ok grandfather who loves cars, bicycles, and art. It’s a weird combo, but it works for me. My wife and I grew up in and around Bellevue, WA, raised our kids in Woodinville, WA, and then transplanted ourselves near Dallas, TX around 2021. We love being around our family and going to incredible places around the world. I find inspiration everywhere I go. Now if I could just paint faster…
